Laptops are a different beast than desktops, and some repairs will be specific to each model. We repair any model and any problem! We have flat rates for our most common services. We service all models at our computer repair store in Brodheadsville.

Laptop screen replacement

To repair a laptop screen requires the replacement of the screen. Is your screen cracked? You probably need a new screen. Are there blotches or dead pixels on your screen? You will need a screen replacement.

What is the cost to have a screen replaced?

$95 for labor, plus the cost of a screen (often between $40 and $80) We have a large selection of screens in stock for MOST laptops, but some screens, especially for newer models and touch-screen laptops, will need to be custom ordered.  Some touch-screen and Apple laptops will have MUCH more expensive screens. How long will it take to have your screen replaced?

A screen repair can be done in usually an hour or two. If we need to order a screen, it typically takes a few days to come in. A safe bet is to just consider it about a week MAX to get your laptop screen replacement done. In some cases, especially with more rare screens, shipping times could be longer but this is not the norm. We will let you know everything when we provide a repair estimate, so you know how long it will take and how much it will cost.

Is your laptop hinge broken, or is your laptop starting to break apart?

This is more common than you might think, and no it is not your fault; some laptops just have a bad design that predisposes them to come apart at the hinge. We can figure out what parts you need and give you a quote to fix everything up. Sometimes it is just not worth it, but a lot of times it is! Whether you need a new palm rest, bottom case, hinge assembly, display assembly, or even just a couple screws tightened up, we will get your laptop back in one piece. Missing or broken keys or malfunctioning touchpad?

Laptop keyboards and trackpads are also replaceable. Labor costs will usually be $45 to $75 depending on the model. Parts cost depends solely on the model of your laptop. We have a variety of new keyboards, trackpads, touchpads, and more in stock, and if we don’t have them we can order them quickly. A new keyboard is often needed if you broke off a few keys or spilled something on it, but don’t let that stop you; it is not as expensive as you might think and is often worth it to get a working laptop again.

We stock just about every laptop charger. For models we have in stock we charge $20 to $35.

Bring in your laptop and we can test it to make sure it turns on and charges. Only buy a charger that actually works. We are not like the other guys charging $50 for a charger and not letting you return it if it doesn’t work. We want to make sure that we actually solve your problem. Laptop turning on but not charging?

This is often caused by a worn-out battery. Typically batteries need to be replaced every few years. If you leave your laptop plugged in all the time this can cause it to fail prematurely. Batteries usually need to be ordered since they have a shelf-life, but we can order ANY battery quickly and we include a warranty with it so you can rest assured you won’t have to replace it anytime soon.

If your battery is not charging, or only charges when the charger is in a certain position, this usually points to a bad DC jack. We can replace your DC jack so your laptop charges reliably.
